About Our Activity

Use the media of your choice.  Members have used pencil, pen and ink, charcoal, pastel, watercolour, oils, and others.

Bring whatever equipment you need.  Don’t forget a hat and insect repellent, drinking water, and clothing to suit the outdoor weather.

We arrive about 9:30 to 10:00 am.  Just select your view and start!

Bring a packed lunch.  We gather at noon for half an hour or more to eat and talk.

Open to all plein air enthusiasts, both members and non-members of art societies. Beginners are especially welcome!

Membership is free.

Where It’s At

We meet for three consecutive weeks at each site, at a variety of scenic locations around Adelaide.

Current notes

We did not meet on Friday, 3rd April, which was the Good Friday public holiday.

Our program for this Friday, 10th April, is at Port Adelaide, at the “City of Adelaide” clipper ship on wharf 2, Honey St, off Ocean Steamers Rd. However, a number of people have given notice they will not be there due to ill health or other reasons, so it is likely there will be very few people there on the 10th.

So, if you are planning to join us for the first time, I suggest next week on the 17th April would be a better time.

At this stage, most of us plan to continue travelling to the sites as listed on our program. If petrol shortages become widespread, or the cost rises much further, or if petrol rationing is introduced, our plans may need to change, but let’s hope that won’t be needed.
